No words can describe the pain of a mother bidding farewell to her daughter, Mariam Abu Daqqa. Nothing in this world compares to the burning sadness in her heart.
Mariam, the little girl died as a result of illness. Mariam was waiting to be evacuated from Gaza so that she would get the required treatment, however, her tiny body could not wait so long.
Life left her behind.
She passed away just before getting the approval to leave Gaza
carried in the arms of her mother, who held the end — not the healing.
Mariam died the way so many do in Gaza:
in silence, in slow suffering, and without the right to treatment.
