Father’s Day |

Father’s Day

I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a father like this

A father with no one to call, no home to return to

War didn’t just take my father

It took my wife, my children, my country.

But somehow… it left me with two reasons to keep breathing

And turned me into a father in ways no one should ever face

I’m not just raising kids

I’m raising what’s left of my world

My name is Ahmed

A father from Gaza

Taught by fire how to love with everything that remains

This Father’s Day, remember:

Some of us are not celebrating

We’re still surviving

And to the people who helped us survive

@fajrscientificus, thank you

You didn’t just rescue us

You gave us a chance to live, dream, and rebuild what war tried to erase

From the ashes, we are still standing

From Houston, with love

From a heart that refuses to give up
