We were talking on WhatsApp
and then, suddenly the connection dropped.
I kept trying to call her back, again and again,
but no one answered.
Then I saw it on the news:
They had bombed the café.
That café we both loved.
And then, the image came.
My dear friend wounded.
My heart felt some relief: she’s still alive.
But my heart shattered for Ismail, another friend
sensitive, gifted.
He used to capture life with his lens,
turning it into stories.
He was just sitting there, sipping tea,
talking about his dreams…
They killed him
