This is my daughter, Salam
She was burned in Gaza
She lost her mother
She received no anesthesia
Only pain
Silence
And my hand holding hers
Now we are in America
Not to start a new life
But to continue her treatment
And give her a chance to heal
She still lives without her mom
But every day she wakes up with courage
I can’t explain!
She runs
She laughs
She teaches me what strength really means
Salam is still healing
But she’s already lighting up the world
